about

Cycles LIVE from The Scarlet in Central City, CO
4.01.17

Recorded by taper / fan Rich Bahner - check out all of his recordings: www.facebook.com/SpaceTapes/

Notes from Rich:

The show started with Patrick and Tucker asking if anyone had seen Michael who was missing. After about 2 minutes the band asked Patrick Brady (fan/friend) from the crowd to play drums. They started to play "Crazy Train" but it was eventually aborted. Michael soon emerged from backstage in a towel, took a dab and proceeded to take over on drums for the rest of the show. Patrick broke a string during "Music For Free" which led to a quick drum and bass only jam while he switched out guitars.

[1] The lyrics in "Sunday Night" were changed to "I killed your family and stole your puppy dog". It also contained teases of the "X-Files" TV show theme song.
[2] The end of "Soulfuckah" featured a "Stairway To Heaven" quote.

Taper Notes: The sound got REAL bass heavy at times especially during "Music For Free" where the feedback got so bad Tucker had to address it mid-song to get the attention of the sound guy. The levels get much better after that. I put the recording through a high pass filter at 661db with a 6db roll-off then amplified as much as I could without clipping. The mic stand was setup DFC however it was in front of a winding staircase which sometimes had talkative people on it.
